Michigan nonprofit

Ride safe.
Slow down.

In honor of Sam Gross. We teach young adults to ride with judgment, and we take care of kids in our communities — gear, licenses, Scouts, and Christmas.

Mission

Why we exist

To educate young adults about motorcycle safety, encourage responsible riding habits, and foster a culture of awareness on Michigan roads — all in honor of Sam Gross.

Sam was eighteen. He died on his motorcycle in Petoskey because he was going too fast. We cannot change that. We can make sure the next young rider hears it in time.
What we do

Five ways we show up

01

Motorcycle safety classes

We teach young adults how to ride with skill, judgment, and respect for the road.

02

Gear for riders in need

Helmets, jackets, gloves, and boots go to people who cannot otherwise afford them.

03

Youth hunting and fishing licenses

We pay for licenses so Michigan kids can get outdoors.

04

Scouts camp and uniforms

We help Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts cover summer camp and uniforms.

05

Christmas fund for foster care

Our Christmas fund gives kids in foster care gifts, warmth, and the feeling of being remembered.

Petoskey, Michigan

Keep his name pointed at the living.

“He was only 18 years old. The mistake was speed. The work is making sure it is not someone else’s.”

Read how Slow Down 4 Sam began, and why we still say his name out loud.

Our history
Help us keep the work moving

Give, teach, or put gear in a rider’s hands.

Every path goes back to the same request: slow down.
